Sudanese Red Crescent Society (SRCS)cash and voucher distribution

The Interventions of the Sudanese Red Crescent Society in the cash and voucher distribution program from January to September 2025

The SRCS implemented cash distribution program and vouchers assistances through the Society's various branches during the period from January to September 2025. This is part of the Sudanese Red Crescent Society's ongoing commitment to support the most vulnerable groups in society and those affected by armed conflicts and natural disasters. Over the past three years, the Society has expanded the scope of its cash assistance distribution program, making it a central part of its humanitarian interventions.

During the first nine months of this year, the volume of aid and coverage reached 14 states. This highlights the importance of the cash assistance program as an effective tool that enables families to meet their basic needs with flexibility, in addition to continuing work in other sectors, such as health, water, and sanitation, psychosocial support and protection programs, food and non-food aid distribution, family reunification programs, and strengthening community resilience and support in the face of growing challenges.

The program aims to distribute cash and vouchers to all states in the country, and is currently being implemented in fourteen states with an implementation rate of approximately 78%. The goal is to provide direct cash support to families affected by various disasters as well as the vulnerable families to meet their daily needs and strengthen their resilience through specific mechanisms, including bank transfers, direct cash distribution, and in-kind assistance with the help of partners from within and outside the international movement.

The program is supported by the Danish Red Cross, German Red Cross, Netherland  Red Cross, Swiss Red Cross, Swedish Red Cross, Spanish Red Cross, the International Committee of the Red Cross, and the World Food Program. With a budget of 68 billion Sudanese pounds targeting 329,000 families in the states of Khartoum, River Nile, North Darfur, North Kordofan, Northern state, West Kordofan, South Darfur, Gedaref, Central Darfur, White Nile, Kassala, West Darfur, Red Sea, and Blue Nile regions.

The SRCS works with its partners to provide the necessary support to families through its various branches and its network of 1.8 million volunteers
